down the hill above referred to as there is an early
probability of getting at any rate part of this work execut-
-ed by the owners of Kowloon Marine Lot 49 in connection
with the reclamation of an extension of that lot for which
the seabed was purchased from the Government at the end of
last year. The reclamation in front of Marine Lots Nos. 29,
30 and 31 required to get a continuous sea-front at Yau-ma-
-ti, will, if satisfactory arrangements can be made with
the owners of those lots with regard to this reclamation,
offer a further opportunity of disposing of the spoil from
the hill.

of the $30,000 saved by not carry-
-ing out Item 17, $5,600 is required to defray expenditure
on the Extension of Robinson Road incurred before the 31st.
December, 1905, but paid this year. I propose that $12,000
should be noted as a saving to go towards meeting the
excess of $42,000 on Item 19 "Forming and Kerbing Streets"
reported below, and that the balance of $12,400 should be
expended on "Widening and Reforming Des Voeux Road, Kow-
-loon" as explained further on in this Despatch.
